Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 2026·Developer: Ryan McDonald

Summary: OpenMark does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your Mac and does not communicate with any external servers.

Data Collection

OpenMark does not collect any data of any kind, including:

  • Personal information (name, email, etc.)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports
  • Document contents
  • File metadata
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers

Network Access

OpenMark does not connect to the internet. The app requests a network entitlement solely to render remote images embedded in markdown files (e.g., ![image](https://example.com/photo.png)). No data is sent from the app. No tracking pixels, analytics endpoints, or third-party SDKs are included.

Third-Party Services

OpenMark does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.

Data Storage

All files are stored locally on your Mac in locations you choose. OpenMark uses Apple's standard FileDocument system and the macOS App Sandbox. The app cannot access files outside of what you explicitly open or save.

Children's Privacy

OpenMark does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL. Since OpenMark collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
